Realme Book Prime, a laptop for young creators who dare to work

Supported by high performance and attractive design, realme Book Prime is here for young creators who "Dare to Create".

For those of you young creators who are looking for a laptop that is light, thin, but powerful and can maximize productivity, you must take a look at our review this time. You see, we have a laptop from realme that can accommodate all of these things.

As is known, realme has just officially launched their newest laptop, the realme Book Prime. This is their newest laptop, which in our opinion is a laptop that makes young creators “Dare to Create”.

There are several advantages that this laptop brings, which we will discuss one by one. We will start by discussing the design. Apparently, realme wants to compete with premium laptops in Indonesia with this one laptop. You see, the design of this laptop looks very elegant and very durable, because they use an all metallic body.

The color choices are also quite elegant, and the unit we are discussing at this time has a very elegant Real Green color. Very suitable for those of you who still look fashionable when working outside. There are two other colors, namely Real Gray and Real Blue which are no less elegant.

Even though they use a metal body, they can still keep this Realme Book Prime light. You see, the weight of this laptop is in the range of 1.37 kg, which is a fairly light weight for a 14-inch laptop.

In addition, they also offer the Super Slim Design feature, which has a thickness of only 14.9mm. This will allow users to fit this laptop in their compact bag.

For the screen itself, they use a 14-inch screen. But make no mistake, even though it has a small screen size, it doesn't mean we will have limitations in viewing content on this one laptop.

They use a screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio which offers a larger cross-section when compared to the 16:9 aspect ratio that is still popular in the market. Therefore, users will be able to load more information on this screen.

realme also managed to get a screen-to-body ratio of up to 90 percent thanks to the 5.3mm bezel. When compared to other premium laptops, such as the Apple MacBook, the screen-to-body ratio of the Realme Book Prime is much better.

As for the panel, they use an IPS panel with support for a 2K Full Vision Display screen resolution. This laptop is also suitable for content creators, because it already has 100% sRGB support.

This panel is also very convenient for watching videos. The color results displayed by this screen are quite impressive. We were able to comfortably watch in a variety of conditions thanks to the screen brightness of up to 400 nits.

On the other hand, for sound, they have used a 2-speaker HARMAN configuration, which supports DTS HD stereo sound effects. The sound is very loud but not cracked when we play a song or movie at a volume above 80 percent.

Turning to performance, despite having a compact size and light weight, realme can still embed a powerful processor. They use an Intel Core i5-11320H processor.

Although not using the latest generation of processors, but the performance of this one processor cannot be seen with one eye. You see, this processor has 4 cores and 8 threads with speeds up to 4.50 GHz.

Combined with 8GB of dual channel RAM and 512GB of storage, this laptop is ready to devour all the work the user does. And here are the benchmark results that we have done.

In synthetic testing, the performance of this laptop proved to be quite impressive. The results of this laptop can even compete with laptops that have a much more expensive price with the same specifications.

Furthermore, in the productivity benchmark test, the results obtained by this laptop are also quite satisfactory. In PCMark and Blender benchmarks, this laptop can gobble it up very well.

Then in game testing, we were able to run some games on this laptop. One of them is DOTA 2 which can run at 1080p with an average fps of 33-49 fps at the lowest settings.

This is reasonable considering the performance of Intel Iris Xe Graphics is quite good, even compared to some entry-level discrete GPUs. So, you can still play some light games in between your busy schedule.

To reduce the heat generated by this processor, realme uses a technology called the VC Liquid Cooling System which is claimed to be able to anticipate heat very well.

This Vapor Chamber Liquid Cooling technology is said to be 32.7% more effective in distributing on realme Book Prime. With this cooling, realme says their laptops can run at wattages in the 50 percent higher range.

During our tests, we didn't notice any excess hotspots. This laptop can stay cool during light use, and no hotspots were observed when we did benchmark testing and played games for 1 hour.

Cool air is sucked in through the bottom of the device, and then exhaled to the outside. So, the processor in it will still be able to function optimally.

Now for the battery itself, they use a 54Wh battery. Realme claims that this laptop can last up to 12 hours when used non-stop. In our tests using PCMark 10, at 50% screen brightness setting and connected to WiFi, this laptop can last up to 8 hours 13 minutes.

There is also super fast charging, because realme embeds 65W Super-Fast Charge charging that uses a USB Type-C connector. You can charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes.

Oh yes, this laptop charger also supports 30W Dart Charge charging. So, you can charge your realme smartphone quickly just using this one laptop charger.

Finally, it's time to talk about our experience in using this laptop for real. The keyboard is very comfortable to use because it has a very short keystroke size.

We also get a satisfying tactile experience. The cross-section of each character is quite relieved and has a style like Apple's MacBook keyboard.

The trackpad is also quite responsive. Meanwhile, its size is quite large so it can accommodate all the needs of users. We really appreciate the presence of a large trackpad on this laptop.

As for connectivity, we will get a total of 2 USB Type-C on the left of the device. One of them supports Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4.0 and supports charging. For one other port, supports USB 3.2 Gen 2.

And on the right there are a USB 3.1 Gen Type-A and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. Unfortunately, there is no microSD reader on this laptop.

Then, for security features, there is also a TPM 2.0 security chip, which is reasonable because this laptop already comes with Windows 11. Meanwhile, there is also an integrated fingerprint scanner with the power button, which has very high accuracy.

realme Book Prime is also very convenient to use for making video calls. The camera is quite clear considering the camera is only 0.9MP. The maximum resolution that can be displayed is 720P.

As for the mic, realme has embedded Dual Mic Noise Cancellation that supports Elevoc Vocplus AI Noise Cancellation Algorithms, Vocplus Pre-processing Technology, and Vocplus Scream Suppression Technology. So the resulting sound is quite clear.

For wireless connectivity itself, the Realme Book Prime already uses Wi-Fi 6. Users will also get the latest generation of Bluetooth in this one laptop.

Finally, a feature that is quite interesting is the presence of PC Connect. This feature was created by realme to combine smart phone and PC in one device. Through this feature, we can operate smartphones and access mobile applications directly on the laptop.

Some of the things we can do, for example, are sharing files very quickly, as easy as dragging and dropping from a smartphone to a laptop or vice versa.

In addition, this feature can also intelligently recognize file types and can automatically open documents stored on smartphones using Microsoft Office programs. After editing the document, the user can save it directly back to the smartphone.

Lastly, there is also a Clipboard Sharing function to display smartphone notifications with banners. This is very useful especially when we are focused on working on a laptop and don't have time to look at our smartphones.
